Dairyland Power Cooperative


Dairyland Power Cooperative, La Crosse, Wisconsin, provides the wholesale electrical requirements and other services for 25 electric distribution cooperatives and 18 municipal utilities, including those served by GEN~SYS Energy. These cooperatives and municipals, in turn, supply the energy needs of more than half a million people.

Dairyland\nulls service area encompasses 62 counties in five states (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan). Dairyland has provided low-cost, reliable electrical energy and related services to its customers in the upper Midwest for nearly 58 years.

Dairyland was formed in December 1941. Today, electricity from the generation and transmission cooperative\nulls four generating stations-981 megawatt capacity-produce electricity which is transmitted via 3,175 miles of transmission lines to 321 substations located throughout the system\nulls 44,500 square mile service area.
